Commonwealth of Learning (CoL) to host an ICDE Satellite
Engagement Event

Prior to the 25 November regional consultations for the ICDE Presidents’ Forum 2020, a series of activities will take place in the form of satellite engagement events. The outcomes from these events hosted by ICDE partner associations will be used as a guide for reflection by registered delegates of the Forum on 25 November.

ICDE Workshop at EODLW2020: “ICDE Global Outlook to OER: What’s on the calendar and how to engage?” 

When: Thursday 5 November 2020, 17:00 CET

ICDE will present a workshop at the EDEN European Online and Distance Learning Week 2020 as a contribution from partner organisations. In this workshop participants will be introduced to ICDE’s recent and upcoming projects and initiatives within OER, and invited to interact with international experts on how to engage in these activities.

Call for OER Expert to Francophone Africa project

ICDE currently seek an OER expert and project consultant to collaborate in a project that will support the implementation of the UNESCO OER Recommendation in a selection of Francophone African Countries. The particular focus will be on capacity building and supportive policies for OER, and the project will connect and involve both national and institutional stakeholders (ministerial and educational leadership level) in the targeted countries.

New article “From Open Educational Resources to Open Educational Practices” published in French journal DMS-DMK

The ICDE OER Advocacy Committee’s (OERAC) contribution to DMS-DMK is now published and freely available. This article analyses the current status of OER and OEP in conjunction with the educational response to COVID-19, with case studies in Africa, Brazil, Canada, China, Sweden and Turkey. The authors argue that in the countries studied, there is a strong need and greater receptivity to expand access to education through OER and OEP.

Report: “Open Education as a game changer – stories from the pandemic” 

This study published by Centrum Cyfrowe presents examples of positive initiatives and changes in education originated as a reaction to the closure of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and which are part of what is known as Open Educational Practices and Open Educational Resources.
The aim of analysis is to gather information about the most interesting and influential Open Education initiatives which could inspire and hopefully permanently revolutionise remote education systems around the world.
